Bob Koski and Ken Henderson founded nMetric after years of grappling with scheduling challenges at Sun Hydraulics Corporation. During a trip through New York's bustling Grand Central Station, they marveled at how seamlessly thousands of commuters reached their trains and destinations.

It sparked a question: Why couldn’t manufacturing orders and jobs flow just as efficiently? That moment inspired the creation of the SmartJob concept, which became a patented innovation.

From that day forward, nMetric has been dedicated to leveraging AI technology to revolutionize scheduling and make it smarter. Over two decades of relentless development and refinement, nMetric has created a groundbreaking scheduling solution that transcends traditional manufacturing and applies to virtually all scheduling challenges. Drawing from the experiences of early beta and trial customers, the software has evolved into a transformative tool for solving the age-old problems of optimal scheduling.

After recognizing the limitations of traditional algorithmic methods, nMetric took a bold leap into the realm of AI and Genetic Algorithms (GA). While GAs had been explored in theory, no one had tackled the unique and complex requirements of real-world scheduling in production software - until now.

By combining the expertise of seasoned schedulers with the ingenuity of AI software engineers, nMetric developed the first production-ready GA Scheduling Engine capable of managing dynamic, real-world constraints and delivering exceptional schedules.
